Ages ago, I went to Abeokuta to visit the famous Olumo Rock with a group of friends. I really had no idea of what to expect…ok that’s a lie. I kinda expected for there to be an elevator that would take us to the top of the rock, easy peasy.

That did not happen and the sandals I had on damn near fell apart while trying not to fall on my ass whilst climbing the rock.

I really should have known better. *side eye*

For some ridiculous reason, when I am in Nigeria, the idea of roughing it gets thrown out the window. 5 star experiences only please!

Ok, that’s a lie again. I really do not mind roughing it for a few hours when the experience is one of those ‘once in a lifetime’ kinda thing. That one time I spent camping in Australia’s northern territory is a great example. It was fun, but I am not doing that ever again. Seriously.

Truth be told, I suck at history. Most of all, I suck at my Yoruba history (I’m a learner!) If you want the history of Olumo rock, please google it. You would not find the story here and I am too lazy to copy and paste from Wikipedia. Instead, what I have below are a select ‘few’ of the pictures I like for inane reasons and decided to share.

Enjoy! Or not… 😛

Look closely at the rock, do you also see an elephant resting.

Playing around with colors, a bit of stark black and white with a splash of vibrance everywhere else.
