Lagos restaurant review as of today, April 23rd, 2021, put Shiro, the Pan Asian restaurant as the number 1 restaurant in Lagos on TripAdvisor, and surprisingly (to me), I’m not mad at it. Here is the review
On an international playing field, is Shiro really worthy of number 1? No. But comparing on Lagos restaurant review them to the local options in Lagos, they are probably number 1. Probably…R.S.V.P is a strong contender to consider, Hard Rock Cafe should not be number 2 or even #10.
So hear me out for a quick minute.
When it comes to Pan-Asian food in Nigeria, Shiro is consistently the best I have experienced. While they are not quite seated in the fine dining category they seem to be placed in by many others, they do well in terms of consistently delivering on nearly amazing food, above average customer service, and an ambiance that could be classified as upper middle class in terms of décor and vibe.
I realize that the words typed above about Shiro does not place them firmly at number 1 in terms of what to expect in a bustling urban city chock-full of new restaurants to discover almost every other week, but the reality of what we have to work with in Lagos is still not great to what Lagos restaurant review should be. I am yet to experience a restaurant in Lagos that meets the three basic cornerstones of ;
- great décor and ambiance
- plus superb custom service
- plus a meal that makes you want to write a sonnet while weeping with joy
Too dramatic? Na. If you know of a restaurant in Lagos that passes all the points above with flying colors, please let me know!
Anyway, for my truly honest experience, see below for my video review on Shiro.
