Day 2 in Hiroshima prefecture started with a random activity, hunting for fruits in Onimichi’s little town with a new friend, Jared.

Jared is a fruit vlogger from New York and I figured it would be fun to do something a little bit different. We spent about 2 hours walking through the town but did not find any fruits different from the ones we are used to. What I did notice was how expensive fruits are in Japan, $45 for a melon! With our current naija exchange rate, that is about N15,000! Jesu! A nice sized orange can set you back by $5. Needless to say, I refrained from buying fruits during this trip. Jared ended up buying a $25 melon.  😯

Before heading to Osaka, I had to pay a visit the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima city, from wikipedia:

Hiroshima, a modern city on Japan’s Honshu Island, was largely destroyed by an atomic bomb during World War II. Today, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park commemorates the 1945 event; on-site is Genbaku Dome, the surviving portion of a structure that crumbled in the explosion. Other prominent sites include Shukkei-en, a formal Chinese-style garden, and Hiroshima castle, a fortress surrounded by a moat and a park.
