I kinda left Fukuoka a few hours late (food coma), so I did not have enough time to really see Miyajima, Onimichi and Hiroshima, but I made the best of my time there!

As soon as I found my guest house in Onimichi (Hiroshima prefecture), I ran out to catch the train and ferry to Miyajima to go check out the popular ‘floating’ shrine, Itsukushima Shrine. In proper Zainob Fashola fashion, I arrived late, the tide was low so all I got was a shrine hanging on the beach.

I sha saw it abi?

Quebec lady and her onimichi, japanese husband. Loved their story
Quebec lady and her onimichi, japanese husband. Loved their story*

*Their story, she moved to Japan a few years ago, and after a year of living there, she met him on Facebook. 1 year after, they got married and now have a baby! The lady was due to give birth the day after the picture was taken. According to her husband, he fought like a samurai to make their marriage work despite their cultural differences. So cute!
