Read below for a comprehensive flight review of Air France Business Class experience from Lagos to London on the Airbus A330-200.
On-Time Flight? – Yes
Check-In –
Nigeria, Lagos Murtala Mohammed International Airport
Two 70lbs luggages + 1 extra 70lbs luggage (for SkyTeam elite members)…
I only had a backpack that weighed 15lbs, so that was wasted on me.
A major problem with paying extra for a bit of luxury when traveling out of Nigeria is that the pre-boarding perks are sometimes a waste of money until you get into the flight (some in-flight staff for Lagos-bound flights can be quite rude too).
In the case of Air France, the person at the check-in counter was rude in how she communicated altogether. From an unwillingness to give me the lounge access card, to a painful tap when trying to get my attention, to taking a long time to respond to my questions. The experience was a frustrating one.
Lounge – Lagos
The lounge left a lot to be desired in food options. There were only carb options and no protein to eat. I decided to skip grabbing dinner there and hope for a better meal on the flight.
Boarding Process – Lagos
I loved that the Air France lounge service offered an option to get driven on a trolley to the gate. I opted for the 10-minute walk, and within 6 minutes of the boarding security check, I was in my seat with a glass of mimosa in hand.
In-Flight Experience – Lagos to Paris
The inflight service experience was pretty much what I expected from a business-class section service.

Dinner was below average. I will rate the meal 2/5 stars. The only good bit was the cake. Loved the cheese and wine though! The main course was supposed to be salmon with mash and curry. What I got was a cement dry piece of fish, a lackluster curry sauce, and a mash that was more gummy than creamy. I believe that may have been the first meal I could not finish while flying in Business class.
I was too keyed up to get any sleep, so I spent some time chatting with the friendly steward on duty.
The legroom here was more than ideal. My seat was mostly in a bed-like reclining position for most of the flight so the leg space was not a worry at all.
The seat was comfortable enough and had the right amount of cushion to keep me comfortable for the 5hr+ flight time. I spent most of the flight time with the seat in the bed position and read a book most of the flight. The blankets provided were really soft and kept me from freezing throughout the flight. If you prefer to have a more comfortable neck pillow for your flight, here’s a fave of mine by napfun
LayOver – Paris Charles de Gaulle
We got into Paris’s Charles de Gaulle international airport at the crack of dawn and I had about 3 hours to kill before my flight to London…thank goodness for that. I carelessly left my cell phone behind, and for the first time ever, with the help of the lounge team at the Air France lounge desk, I was able to retrieve it (Delta and Turkish, take note of this).
The food options were just ok. Turkish airlines still remain my favorite lounge to spend time at. Not a lot to do here to kill time if shopping is not on the table, so I found a corner and caught up on my much-needed sleep.
In-Flight Experience – Paris to London
We were served a light breakfast that was almost a replica of the options in the lounge, but the dessert was amazing. It was a good fare nonetheless. The flight was with Air France Cityjet and the legroom was pretty good for me, I am about 5ft 7″ and was able to stretch out without discomfort.
Check Out – London
The experience was pretty smooth. I got my backpack in less than 10 minutes, got a cab, and then spent a lovely week with my family.
A video will be up next week to showcase a better idea of the flight experience 🙂

Flew Air France one and person that boarded me was also not nice. I swore never to fly them ever again. I was too sick to even care about the in-flight experience.
