I am officially blogging from Japan, how cool is that!? Woot woot!! It took about 2 days to get here and it has been so worth it so far. I flew from Lagos with Lufthansa through Frankfurt, Germany to Nagoya, Japan then hopped on ANA to Ishigaki, part of the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa.

By the time I was pointed to my bed by my host, sleep was the first thing on my mind. Got a bit of snooze in, woke up to meet some of the ladies I share the house with, then went out for dinner with my room mate, a Chinese lady currently going to school in Japan. Met a couple of guys from Germany at the restaurant and had a good night of sharing stories with them. Good first night all in all.

Day 2, my host, Kyoko was kind enough to help me find a scuba diving company, an activity that has eluded me in the past. I finally got to go scuba diving, asthma attack from hay fever 10 years ago be dammed – so I lied in my medical history form; they don’t allow folks with asthmatic history to dive, 😛 I learned that the hard way at the Great barrier reef in Australia.

The pictures from the dives are quite special, so I will create a separate post for those. We also saw some manta rays! Ok, don’t let me form small, I actually didn’t care about the manta rays until everyone on the boat made a big fuss about it, so I got excited along with them to see it. And now I’m passing on that excitement. Woohoo!
