I picked up my first hitchhikers!!
So they were not total strangers, but it was still a pretty cool experience. We were roommates in Achill Island, two of them are Irish-British sisters hitchhiking their way around Ireland, and a french lady doing the same too. We happened to be headed the same way, so I figured I might as well help the ladies out, and they could help me fill the long drive with some good conversations. I got a free lunch out it too :D.
When we got to Galway, we swapped information, parted ways and I was ready for another adventure. Their journeys were beyond Galway.
I really had some serious awesome outdoor adventures planned like coasteering, caving, island hopping but the weather killed my buzz big time, so I took a more lazy travel route. It didn’t suck either way.
I did a free walking tour that was subpar, hit up a couple of pubs at night, a day trip to Connemara where the storm almost swept me away, went beer tasting at Salthouse, and got to try out Haggis for the first time.
My Galway stop was for four nights and I found myself overwhelmed by the number of tourists after spending the first days in Ireland visiting more obscure and less touristy parts of the country. It eventually grew on me by Day 2.5.
I will post a short video of my time in Galway when I can muscle up the strength and time, but in the meantime, I got some really good pictures so enjoy!
