A couple of months ago, I traveled along with six male friends to Abia via Enugu to support a dear friend of ours. The village we visited in Abia was on the outskirts and because most of us had never been to Enugu and Abia before, we booked our hotel in Enugu and decided to explore the food culture during our 24 hours stay.
Enugu doesn’t look bad eh?
If you don’t mind me saying, with the short time we had in Enugu and Abia, we really did a good job of trying out different Igbo dishes.

I’ve had this before and i still can’t figure if i like itDo you have proper igbo traditional food? If so, send em my way! I got to try abacha, abia style. Not a first for me. Seems to be spiced differently in different eastern regions
We left Abia just in time to check into our hotel in Enugu, then grabbed a nano-nap before heading out to for dinner at a local joint by Polo Park G.R.A, Veronica.
I was pretty impressed by my room. The room number system was a bit confused, but it was much better than i expectedAnother first, nkwobi – cow’s feet. This was surprisingly tender and so delishA first, isi ewu – goat’s head. It came in 2 bowls with every part of the goat’s head. It was so good though…About to eat the goat’s eye…it was pretty juicy. Lol! For real though, if i didn’t know what it was, i would have had secondsAbout to try out the goat’s tongue…just a bite for this bit onlyTristan was also game for it…unlike the other guys. He was so cringing! Good timesWe really thought the bill would be much worse! Lagos restaurants, please take note!
After a night of eating so much good food, the next morning was pretty chill. We sipped a bit more of Hero before getting a cab to do one touristy thing every Nigerian does against my very vocal protest, mall hunts. The Ferris Wheel made up for the mall trip…
